Two young Serbian poets, Mirko Korolija and Milutin Bojić, and a renowned literary critic of the period, Jovan Skerlić, represent key points of a specific phenomenon in terms of D’Annunzio’s influence on the Serbian poetry at the beginning of the 20th century. Pushed and encouraged by the critic who wanted them by his side in the literary and ideological battles within the tumultuous panorama of the Serbian poetry of the period, abundant in numerous nationalist and Europeistic currents, the two poets exercised both separately and jointly their own approach to gabriele D’Annuncio’s poetry, thus creating numerous poetic effects.
