La traduction et la rédaction des textes juridiques ont depuis toujours représenté un défi pour les traducteurs et les rédacteurs spécialisés, surtout quand il s’agit du droit positif qui comprend, avant tout, des lois et d’autres actes. Cependant, ce problème est devenu particulièrement visible dans la traduction des actes juridiques de l’UE connus sous le nom des acquis. Étant donné que tous les pays candidats et les candidats potentiels ont décidé de traduire de l’anglais, il est immédiatement devenu clair que la lecture des versions dans d’autres langues est inévitable, ce qui est confirmé par la jurisprudence de la Cour de justice de l’Union européenne. Lors de la traduction en serbe, il s’est montré que la lecture des documents en français aide beaucoup l’interprétation et la compréhension de la traduction anglaise. Dans le présent article, l’auteur a expliqué la spécificité de la traduction dans l’UE, présenté les difficultés dans la traduction des acquis en serbe et montré les avantages de la consultation des actes juridiques en français.
