THE LEXICAL AND WORDFORMATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SELENIC’S NARRATORS’ LANGUAGE

Departing from the general thesis that Selenić’s novel Očevi i oci (“Fathers and Forefathers”) represents almost ideal materiel for an analysis of language speakers’ relationship with the realized language expression, author presents the results of his research of narrators’ discourse in the novel. He pays particular attention to speakers who appear in the form of writer’s heroes, including also the narrator who does not coincide with the novel writer, as well as to the writer’s appearance in the role of narrator. The analyzed language materiel was taken from the chapter I of the given Selenić’s novel (pp. 5-80). Lexical units and units of word-formational models found in the discourse of novel’s narrators, mostly in nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs classes, in detail, are material of the present linguistic analysis.
